Where do you spend most of your time fishing?

Kawartha lakes, Ontario.

What is your favorite species to fish?

Largemouth Bass.

What is your favorite Lund model and why?

I love the 1875 Pro V bass. It has a shallow draft and incredible hole shot, plus a great near 60mph top end. Storage for more gear than you need and its awesome in rough water.

If the bite is tough, what’s your go-to strategy to turn things around?

Go shallow and skip docks.

What's the most underrated fishing technique that more people should be using?

Throwing a 5- or 6-inch swim bait. It catches everything.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Be myself and don't try to please everyone.

What’s one fish you still have on your bucket list?

Tarpon.

Aside from fishing, how are you involved with the angling community?

I promote an angler apprentice program, and often do seminars at trade shows. I also represent the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, the largest non-government, nonprofit conservation organization in Canada.

How do you approach fishing a new lake?

I always start from the shallowest bays and work the shorelines, eventually you will run into the spots that hold big bass.

What's your hidden talent?

Impersonations .
