Bret Setterholm is a Lund Pro-Staffer from Perham MN. He was born and raised in New York Mills MN home of Lund Boat Company where the dream of aluminum Lund boats all started. Bret spends his time guiding in the summer on area Ottertail County Lakes. His guide business has been operating for over fifteen years, focusing mainly on walleyes. While in the off season, Bret teaches sixth grade in a local school. He enjoys teaching with a passion for kids and their education.

What's the highlight of your fishing career so far?

One of my highlights was, that I was fortunate enough to meet Gary Roach and invite him to stay at my house during a PWT event. Not only to have one a fishing legends stay at your house, but then become friends with Mr. Walleye himself. It still feels like a dream!

How long have you been fishing?

I have been fishing since I can remember. If I had to hang out with my dad, I better go fishing with him!

What inspired you to become a Lund Pro-Staff?

I was born and raised in New York Mills, so I grew up with the Lund tradition in my blood. I had always dreamed of becoming a Lund Pro-Staffer!!

Can you tell us the largest fish you have ever caught?

12 lb 32 inch walleye

Where do you mostly fish and what tournaments can we see you in this season?

I fish mainly on Ottertail County lakes in MN. Ottertail Lake is my main lake that I fish with my guide service www.bretsguideservice.com. Being committed to my guide service, I mostly fish local tournaments.

What is the best fishing tip or advice that you ever received?

Somewhere on the lake, the fish are biting! You need to find the fish that are active......

In what ways are you involved in the angling community?

During the winter months I'm a sixth grade teacher. We run a program through the school called the Minnaqua Program. Which is a curriculum designed by the MN DNR. I teach the curriculum to the students, which involves all aspect of lake ecosystems, fish identifications, watershed, etc... Then we take all our students who went through the training fishing! Great program to get the younger generation involved with angling!

Summer, I'm active helping out the AYA Event on Little Pine Lake.

Also a member of the Ottertail Fishing League.

2008 when my first child was born, then 2010 when the second child was born!!

What's your favorite model of Lund to fish out of? Why?

Lund 1975 or 2075 ProV.... The ProV has a tradition of fishability that has been a proven winner over time!
