Return to "Love My Lund" Stories

Here are a few of the stories we featured awhile back, in case you missed them...

This is by far the best boat that Lund has ever made. It is a 1900 Pro-v LE (year 2000) with a 200 Mercury Optimax and a 9.9 mercury Four-Stroke. I love my Lund because I can go out into rough water and not worry about being stuck out in the middle of the lake. We bought the boat in the summer of 2004. Our family will not buy anything but a Lund boat.

Matt R., Ontario

This is my 2000 Lund 16' Mr. Pike.  When I bought it in 2002 I thought I would use it on the small lakes and rivers around my house, however, when I discovered how great the striper fishing is in Cape Cod I started to spend all of my fishing time there.

The first few trips I went on to the Cape the water was like glass and the fish were in 4-8 feet of water. My past few trips have been out to Race Point where the water is about 100-250 feet deep. The waves can reach four, or even five feet. My Lund can handle it all. I can fish in-and-around with the 30-40 foot sport-fishing boats for Bass Blues and even Tuna. It is amazing and can usually outrun any storm blowing in with its 80hp Yamaha four-stroke.  It tops out at about 40 mph and has a soft dry ride (for an aluminum boat).

Kevin G., Belchertown, MA.

This is my third Lund. I went from an 18 foot, to a 19 foot.  I also went from a 200 Opti to a new 2005 2025 SE with a 250 Verado.  This is by far the safest, smoothest-riding, quietest rig ever.

Lund was my dream back when I was a kid.  All these years later, three Lunds, and now this 2025 SE with a Verado.  This is an unbelievable combo, get one!!!

I enjoy this rig with my fishing buddies, my wife and grandkids.  I have taken three trips to Canada, and haven’t had a single problem. I feel safe in this outfit.  When you have your grandsons on board you know you will be okay, although you need to use your head in bad weather.  I do not know what Lund could do to improve this boat; plenty of storage, fishing room - even with three or four people. I use the wash-down kit often when cleaning fish for shore lunch.  The pumps are all easily replaceable and use the same unit. I can't wait for next spring!!!!

Lynn S., Corning, IA.

My wife and I bought a year 2000 1600 Alaskan model.  We take at least one week-long trip a year to Canada.  Our Alaskan has more than handled the rugged condition of the remote lakes and has provided us with endless memories.  Recently we had our first child and we can hardly wait to take her out for her first boat-ride.

Thanks Lund for providing a solid and reliable product for many years.  I have included a photo of our boat up on one of those beautiful remote Canadian lakes.  Thanks again for helping me reach such awesome places and great fishing.

Brett C., Cecil, WI

I owned my first Lund for 18-years and loved it! It was the most reliable, comfortable boat and it still looked good-as-new when I sold it this spring.  In fact I sold it for more that the original purchase price!

Ten years ago I started fishing with seven other like-minded fishing enthusiasts. Our group consists of eight men and 4 boats. We set aside the same week each year to get together to enjoy the great fishing in upstate New York.

At first I was the only Lund owner in the group. In 1998 Dave B. purchased a Lund, and in 2000 Derek L. purchased his Lund.  In March I purchased a new Lund 1700 Explorer.  This year Dave S. also purchased a 1700 Explorer.

Here is a picture of all of the Lunds from this years trip. Thanks for the great boats and all of the wonderful trips yet to be enjoyed!

George J., Lindenwold NJ.

Hi, my name is Kyle. I'm 14-years-old. My Dad and I fish in many walleye tournaments in the upper Midwest. We fish for everything; from walleyes, panfish, muskies, bass, salmon, and catfish. Our Lund fits our needs perfectly.  It doesn't matter if were on Ottertail lake fishing in a tourney in six foot waves or out on superior in big rollers.

We recently upgraded from a ‘98 1775 Pro V Tiller to a ‘06 1800 Pro V Tiller with a 90 Optimax. I love our new boat.

Thanks, Lund for building such a safe and wonderful boat.

Kyle M., Oakdale, MN.

I really enjoy my 1991 Lund Tyee II, and these pair of Sharp-tail Grouse at my parents place in Wyoming did too.

Jamie B., Bozeman, MT.

I love my 2000 Tyee Gransport. I picked-up the boat at New York Mills.  It was a beautiful boat and it still is. It does not have some of the amenities of the newer boats but that is all-right. I have used it in Canada, Minnesota, North Dakota, Arkansas, and Iowa is my home station. I have added a bow motor, marine radio, downrigger, and a lot of tender loving care.

The only thing I wish I would have purchased is a LUND Cap to go with my pride. I can probably catch tons of fish anyway. Keep selling Lunds. They are the best.

Richard H., Ames, IA
